Calusa Sportsman Foundation Inshore Benefit Brings Community Together for Kids in Southwest Florida
The Calusa Sportsman Foundation Inshore Benefit was more than just a fishing tournament—it was a fundraiser, a reunion, and a powerful show of support for children in Southwest Florida.

One of the most moving moments came during the evening dinner, when Valerie’s House CEO Angela Melvin invited Justin Layne to share his story. Justin lost his father six years ago and remembers how difficult it was to step through the doors of Valerie’s House for the first time. Over time, the program became a place where he could face his grief. Today, in a full-circle moment, Justin mentors grieving kids, walking alongside them as someone who understands.
Events like this remind us why community matters. We are deeply grateful to the Calusa Sportsman Foundation, the generous sponsors, and everyone who showed up to make this year’s Inshore Benefit such a success. Together, we are giving children hope for the future.
