Helping You Support the Children You Love
At Valerie’s House, we know that grief impacts the whole family, not just the child who experienced the loss. That’s why we provide compassionate peer support for adults who are raising grieving children. You don’t have to walk this path alone.
While your child participates in their age-specific grief group, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with other caregivers who understand exactly what you’re going through. Together, you can share experiences, offer support, and gain tools to help your family heal—one step at a time.
You’re Supporting Them—We’re Supporting You
Parenting is challenging under the best of circumstances. When grief enters the picture, it can feel overwhelming. Our caregiver peer groups offer a safe, welcoming space to:
- Share your story and listen to others who’ve been there
- Learn what grief may look like at different stages of your child’s development
- Discover how to talk with your children about loss in a healthy, age-appropriate way
- Find reassurance, comfort, and perspective as you support your family through a difficult time
Who These Groups Are Meant to Help
Valerie’s House offers caregiver support groups at the same time as their children’s support groups. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, or guardian, we welcome you with open arms.
Our caregiver support groups include:
- Parents and Guardians of children ages 5 to 18
- Grandparents Raising Grandchildren After a Loss
- Life Without Mom – for dads and children navigating grief together
- Life Without Dad – for moms and children navigating grief together
- Sibling Loss Group – for families who’ve lost a child
- Programa en Español – for Spanish-speaking families
- Perinatal Loss Group
All adult groups meet at the same time and location as your child’s group sessions in Fort Myers, Naples, Punta Gorda, and Pensacola.
