A Place to Be Understood
Grief doesn’t disappear when childhood ends. For many young adults, the pain of losing a loved one can feel even more isolating during this transitional time of life: college, new careers, independence, and relationships. Valerie’s House is here to ensure you don’t have to go through it alone.
Our Young Adult Grief Support Program is designed specifically for those ages 18–27 who have experienced the death of an immediate family member. Whether you’re in school, starting a job, or still figuring it all out, you’ll find support, understanding, and healing with others who truly get it.

Why This Program Matters
Grief in young adulthood often goes unspoken. While peers are focused on building their futures, you may be navigating deep emotional loss without a roadmap. That’s where we come in.
“I remember being in my dorm and my roommate talking on the phone with her mother every day. It was in those moments that I felt more grief than I had ever felt before.” — Angela Melvin, Founder & CEO, Valerie’s House
Our goal is to create a space where you can talk openly about what you’re experiencing, feel less alone in your pain, and gain tools for resilience that will support you both now and in the years ahead.
