Nick and Evan: Turning Grief Into Music

For Nick and Evan, grief has been a journey of loss, healing, and discovery. Both teens faced profound loss at a young age—Nick lost his mom, and Evan lost his dad. Their experiences brought them to Valerie’s House, where they found support and a safe space to process their emotions.

Music became their outlet, a way to channel their feelings and create something meaningful. Their latest song, "Rear View," is a culmination of their hard work and determination, fueled by their experiences and emotions. It showcases their resilience and creativity, proving that grief doesn’t have to hold you back.

At the recent Sunset Soirée, attendees were inspired by the debut of their music video for "Rear View." The song and video are now available on multiple platforms, extending their message to an even broader audience.

Nick and Evan remind us of something we often say at Valerie’s House: loss doesn’t have to limit your dreams. Through their music, they’ve shown how powerful an outlet creativity can be and how determination can turn grief into purpose.

We’re so proud of Nick and Evan for their courage and creativity and honored to be part of their journey.
