Looking Ahead: College and Career Fair at Valerie’s House

Our teens and young adults took an inspiring step toward their future at the Valerie’s House College and Career Fair, held Tuesday, April 30 at our Fort Myers Family is Forever Home.

This special evening brought together caring professionals from across our community to provide guidance and support for grieving students and their caregivers as they explore life beyond high school.

Guests heard a presentation on FAFSA and scholarship opportunities, as well as breakout sessions covering college readiness, technical schools, and alternative career paths. Most importantly, they heard a powerful message: loss doesn’t have to limit your dreams.

We are deeply grateful to the local organizations and individuals who showed up for our kids in such a meaningful way:

  • Florida SouthWestern State College

  • The Collaboratory

  • Starbucks

  • Lee Technical Colleges

  • Gateway High School and North Fort Myers High School guidance counselors

  • The Lee County School District

  • Fort Myers Police Department

  • Fort Myers Fire Department

  • WINK News Meteorologist Lauren Kreidler

Your presence reminded our teens and families that they are not alone—and that our community is behind them every step of the way.
