Valerie’s House Vice President of partnerships and operations and lcsw, amy strom, being interviewed by wink news
Valerie’s House is proud to be featured in another impactful WINK News story—this time highlighting a new initiative from the Lee County School District to support the mental health of students and families.
Amy Strom, our Vice President of Partnerships and Operations and a licensed clinical social worker, was interviewed about Valerie’s House’s role in the district’s mental health outreach. As Amy shared, our organization has been working closely with local schools to offer grief and mental health resources—not just for students who are already attending Valerie’s House, but for those who may not otherwise have access.
Amy emphasized the importance of collaboration, noting that Valerie’s House provides trainings for school staff and mental health teams, facilitates in-school grief groups, and extends support to students and families year-round.
The new portal—launched in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month—offers 24/7 access to information and tools for students, parents, and the broader community. With one in five adolescents in the U.S. experiencing a diagnosed mental or behavioral health condition, the need for accessible resources has never been greater.
We are grateful to be recognized as a trusted partner in the district’s mental health efforts. Through this initiative and others, Valerie’s House continues to extend our mission of healing to families across Southwest Florida.
