Valerie’s House Sunset Soirée Returns November 12, 2026
FORT MYERS – Mark your calendars for November 12, 2026, as the annual Valerie’s House Sunset Soirée returns, marking its third year at the Family is Forever Home at 3551 Valerie’s House Way in Ft. Myers.
The Sunset Soirée, held to bring together community leaders, donors, and supporters to raise funds and awareness for grieving children in Southwest Florida, also commemorates Children’s Grief Awareness Month in November. The evening features a cocktail reception, dinner, and powerful mission storytelling, along with a silent auction.
Sunset Soirée sponsorship opportunities and event tickets can be found at ValeriesHouse.org/events.
Valerie’s House was founded by Angela Melvin Churchill in 2016 following the loss of her mother, Valerie, who was killed in a car accident in 1987 when Angela was10 years old. Remembering the isolation and confusion she experienced as a grieving child, she created Valerie’s House so no child would have to grieve alone. The organization began with just 20 children meeting in a rented space in downtown Fort Myers on January 11, 2016. Today, Valerie’s House has grown to serve nearly 7,000 children and families across Southwest Florida who are grieving the death of a loved one.
Valerie’s House offers peer support groups, counseling and related programming at locations in Fort Myers, Naples, and Punta Gorda and is supported through community donations and grant funding.
