WINK TV Report: Valerie's House helps Children in SWFL’s opioid epidemic

At Valerie's House, we have had an increase in the number of children and families coming to us for help as they grieve and wonder why their mother or father or sister or brother had to leave them so early in life. Many of the people who lost their life were trying opioids for the first time.

The team at WINK TV visited Valerie's House to learn more about the devastating effects drug overdoses are having on the children left behind, and the programs Valerie's House offers to support them in their grief.

Watch the WINK TV special report here.

Our thanks to local law enforcement, first responders, and others in the community helping battle this epidemic. Valerie's House will continue to be here to help our children. We only wish these families didn't have to grieve a life gone too soon.

If you, or someone you know, needs help in their grief, please reach out to Angela Melvin at Valerie's House, or call 239-204-5804.
