Valerie’s House Pensacola: Grateful for the East Hill Neighborhood Association’s Heartfelt Spotlight

At Valerie’s House Pensacola, we are deeply touched by the support and love shown to us by the East Hill Neighborhood Association. Their recent spotlight on our Pensacola home has truly highlighted the heart of our mission—offering healing and hope to grieving children and families. We are incredibly thankful for this recognition and for the opportunity to be part of such a warm, welcoming community.

Since opening our doors in 2021, Valerie’s House Pensacola has been committed to providing a safe and compassionate space for children ages 5-18 who are navigating the heartbreaking loss of a loved one. Thanks to the East Hill Neighborhood Association, more people are now aware of the crucial role our home plays in helping families find solace and connection during their most difficult moments.

We are proud to be nestled in the beautiful East Hill neighborhood, where the rich history and strong sense of community perfectly align with our values. Our new home at 904 East Gadsden Street, secured in 2022 through the generosity of the Chadbourne Foundation, has given us a permanent space where grieving children can find comfort and build resilience. The East Hill Neighborhood Association has not only embraced us but has also helped amplify our mission, ensuring that more families know they have a place to turn when faced with the unimaginable.

In addition to the physical space, it is the community's unwavering support that truly makes a difference. The East Hill Neighborhood Association’s thoughtful spotlight not only shines a light on our work but also helps us reach more families who may need our services. Their kindness and generosity remind us of the power of community and how much it means to feel supported by those around us.

At Valerie’s House, we believe that healing happens together. The support we’ve received from East Hill strengthens our ability to provide peer-to-peer support groups, therapeutic activities, and a place where children and families can rebuild their lives while preserving the memories of their loved ones. As Program Manager Jenni Elzweig puts it, “Our house is a grounding place for our families. Inside and out, we provide them with respite and peace.”

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the East Hill Neighborhood Association for their incredible spotlight on our work and for welcoming us so warmly into the neighborhood. Your ongoing support means the world to us and to the families we serve. Together, we are helping children and families find hope, healing, and a sense of belonging.
