Valerie’s House is thrilled to welcome Steve Belcher as the newest member of the Board of Directors.

Steve is the founder and president of Belcher & Company, which offers services in business and estate planning, retirement strategies, and executive benefits in Fort Myers, Florida.

Steve has been a supporter of Valerie’s House since he first heard about the organization in 2016. As a friend of some of the board members at the time, Steve had been invited to the first-ever Sunset Soiree, an October fundraising gala hosted by Valerie’s House.

“I lost a sister when I was 15, and she was 20,” Steve said. “She was killed by a drunk driver. The more I learned about Valerie’s House, the more I realized how helpful it would have been for me when I was a kid.”

Steve says that he’s looking forward to helping Valerie’s House continue to grow and support more grieving families any way he can.

“When my tenure is up, I want the team to be able to say that I did way more than they ever expected,” Steve said.

Not only is Steve a compassionate, driven business owner, he’s also a two-time cancer survivor and a piano player. Having grown up in Mississippi, Steve finds himself especially drawn to playing jazz and the blues.
